Job summary

BNY Mellon in Pittsburgh is seeking a Vice President, AI Risk to join Technology Risk Management. This role will help build and sustain the AI Risk program within a regulated environment.

The VP will liaise across Risk & Compliance, translate risk principles into actionable AI requirements, and lead cross-functional initiatives to close gaps. A collaborative leader with deep AI and risk experience will enable safe, high-impact innovation and robust governance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of AI risk or related experience in regulated industries.
• Strong AI and risk domain knowledge with practical, on-the-job experience.
• Foundational knowledge of banks' risk management frameworks.
• Experience guiding risk across identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring and governance.
• Proven negotiation and leadership skills to build scalable frameworks.
• Ability to influence without formal authority across tech, business and risk stakeholders.
• Ability to translate AI risk topics into clear requirements and senior-management communications.

Responsibilities

• Help build, implement, and sustain the AI Risk program and operating model.
• Liaise across Risk & Compliance to identify and close gaps in AI oversight.
• Address and support execution across risk management lifecycle: identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, governance.
• Translate enterprise risk management principles into practical AI risk requirements, processes, governance.
• Apply knowledge of how banks implement risk management frameworks to build AI Risk program.
• Create a sustainable framework that can adapt to future business changes.
• Partner with first and second line stakeholders to implement AI risk requirements.
• Use negotiation, leadership to align stakeholders and drive execution of new or changing AI risk requirements.
• Prepare clear reporting for senior management and governance forums on progress.
