The Anderson Search Group has been engaged by a repeat client, a top Super-Community Bank, to identify an experienced VP, Accounts Payable Manager to lead its Accounts Payable function and team in Little Rock.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional who has successfully managed and developed teams, improved processes, driven automation, and operated effectively in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Accounts Payable and/or Accounting required.
• 5+ years in direct supervisory/management roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven success leading and developing an AP team.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, AP controls and best practices.
• Experience driving process improvement, automation and efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead organization's Accounts Payable function and team.
• Train, mentor and coach staff; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive AP process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Lead touchless invoice processing efforts for high‑volume vendors.
• Ensure invoices and payments are accurate and timely.
• Oversee vendor statements, setup and 1099 preparation.
• Collaborate with Accounting on daily activities and monthly close.
• Analyze AP workflows to improve efficiency, controls and resources.

The Anderson Search Group has been engaged by a repeat client, a top Super-Community Bank, to identify an experienced VP, Accounts Payable Manager to lead its Accounts Payable function and team in Little Rock.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable or Accounting professional who has successfully managed and developed teams, improved processes, driven automation, and operated effectively in a high-volume environment.

The organization is particularly interested in a leader who can evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for greater efficiency and automation, and continue moving the Accounts Payable function toward touchless invoice processing for high-volume vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organization's Accounts Payable function and team.
• Manage, train, mentor and coach employees while creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive Accounts Payable process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Lead efforts toward touchless invoice processing for high-volume vendors.
• Ensure invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
• Oversee vendor statement reconciliation and vendor setup/modifications.
• Partner closely with Accounting on day-to-day activities and the monthly close process.
• Analyze AP workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and resource utilization.
• Maintain and enhance Accounts Payable policies, procedures and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to company travel policies and applicable governmental and regulatory requirements.
• Review payments for accuracy and ensure expenditures are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Perform and oversee analysis of Accounts Payable data.
• Maintain vendor W-9 documentation and oversee annual 1099 preparation.
• Support examination and audit inquiries.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounting experience required.
• 5+ years of direct supervisory/management experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, or commensurate professional experience.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing an Accounts Payable team.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, Accounts Payable controls and best practices.
• Experience driving process improvement, automation and operational efficiencies.
• Ability to analyze complex financial information and make sound independent decisions.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with modern accounting/AP platforms required; Workday Financials experience is strongly preferred.

Location Requirement

This position is onsite in Little Rock, Arkansas. Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance or be willing to relocate.

For an exceptional candidate relocating to Little Rock, the organization is open to providing a signing bonus to assist with the transition.
