Job summary

Minnesota Lakes Bank is seeking a Vice President – Business Banker. This position may share time between our Delano and Mound locations. The candidate will provide service to existing and prospective business customers seeking commercial loans and products, manage and grow commercial portfolio, and provide support to other employees for overall bank efficiency.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below:

1. Service New and Existing Commercial Customers in Accordance and Compliance with Bank Regulation and Loan Policy
  • Interviews potential new clients, gathers required information to establish credit worthiness and negotiates terms, covenants and pricing within establish guidelines
  • Approves or denies credit requests within individual lending authority or refers and presents to the loan committee
  • Makes regular calls on existing and potential new clients to retain or increase business relationships
  • Monitors loan relationships by reviewing incoming financial information and updating file comments
  • Responsible for growing the loan portfolio
  • Makes appropriate collection efforts of delinquent loans in a timely manner
  • Negotiates extensions and modifications of loans and arranges pay schedules
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of the Bank's loan policy
  • Understands and maintains knowledge of bank regulation
  • Counsels customers, as appropriate, on business and financial matters
  • Make suggestions or provides customers with an appropriate mix of deposit and ancillary bank products
  • Ensure all required documentation is in compliance with loan policy and state & federal regulation
2. Develop and Grow the Bank's Book of Business by Drawing on a Network of Personal and Business Contacts, Business Experience, and Knowledge of the Bank's Products and Services
  • Promote business development and the banks image through community networking and actively participating in community events and activities
  • Participate in organizations that improve the quality of life in the communities we serve
3. Provide Support to Other Employees as Necessary
  • Open and close bank as scheduled, following security guidelines and ensuring employees are prepared for customers
4. Perform Other Job-related Duties or Special Projects as Assigned
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred
  • Minimum two years post-high school degree or equivalent certification
Previous Experience
  • To be considered for this position, the applicant should have a minimum of five years of previous commercial lending experience.
