Job summary

Michaels is hiring for an Event Coordinator in Syracuse, NY. The role focuses on planning and executing store events, including kids’ birthday parties, crafts, and other activities to create a fun, engaging guest experience.

You will assist customers, support checkout, and help with omni-channel processes like BOPIS and Ship From Store, while promoting rewards programs. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred.

• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Retail or customer service background preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events within the Michaels store (e.g., kids’ birthday parties, craft classes).
• Engage with clients and guests of all ages to create a fun, creative atmosphere.
• Demonstrate crafts, perform face painting, and manage event add-ons (balloons, goody bags).
• Handle customer questions, enroll in Rewards/Private Label Credit Cards, and support BOPIS/SFS processes.
