Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. is seeking an in-store Event Coordinator in Des Moines, IA to plan and execute children’s parties and events within the store while delivering exceptional customer service. You will guide guests, demonstrate crafts, coordinate with store teams, and manage event logistics from setup to wrap-up.

Responsibilities include engaging customers, supporting BOPIS/SFS processes, and promoting the Rewards program, with a focus on safety and store standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other crafts/classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct craft projects; perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle emails, phone calls, and paperwork; adjust plans per client feedback.
• Ensure client satisfaction; uphold cleanliness and safety; set up and break down events.
• Assist customers with shopping, locating products, and enroll in Rewards/Private Label Credit Cards.
