Job summary

Benshaw is seeking a VFD Technical Specialist & Trainer to join our team at 615 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238. This role combines deep technical expertise in VFDs and motor control with the ability to teach others through engaging training programs for engineers, technicians, and distributors.

You will deliver hands-on training, support customers and sales teams, and develop training materials while staying current with industry standards.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience with VFDs, motor controls, or industrial automation.
Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on knowledge of AC/DC motors and drives.
Excellent communication and presentation skills — ability to train both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with PLCs and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet) is a plus.
A passion for teaching and helping others succeed.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred, but equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

Act as a subject matter expert in VFDs, soft starters, and motor controls.
Support customers, sales reps, and distributors with application engineering, startup, and troubleshooting.
Deliver hands-on technical training in classrooms, labs, and customer facilities.
Develop engaging training materials (manuals, presentations, videos, e-learning).
Stay ahead of industry standards and emerging technologies to keep content fresh and relevant.
