Job summary

Pieper Veterinary is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians for the Surgery Department at Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center in Middletown, CT. The role focuses on anesthesia and advanced surgical care with a collaborative, VECCS Level 1 certified hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with anesthesia, drug calculations, monitoring, and support for team-based care. In-house CE and mentorship toward VTS goals are available.

Qualifications

  • Experience with induction agents/anesthetic agents/analgesia agents.
  • Ability to calculate CRIs and perform medical math.
  • Experience with ventilators.
  • Experience with specialty anesthesia (emergent procedures) is a must.
  • Can read ECG, capnograph and respond appropriately.
  • Knowledge on how and when to use a non-rebreather circuit.
  • Knowledge when to react with BP readings and what to do in each situation.
  • Skilled in time management with an understanding of the importance of table times.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Pieper Veterinary is looking for experienced Veterinary Technicians that are passionate about anesthesia and advanced surgical care to join our Surgery Department at Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center located in Middletown, CT.

About You:

We strongly believe that veterinary medicine is a team sport, and our ideal candidate is someone who feels the same.

The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable with anesthesia, various drug calculations and protocols, and excels at anesthetic monitoring. Previous experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, as well as restraint are also crucial for this role. Experience with CPR, EzyVet and Smartflow are an additional plus, but not required.

A VTS (Anesthesia and Analgesia) is highly desirable (not required) and would receive additional compensation.

Compensation:

$24.00-$30.00/hour dependent upon experience

Anticipated schedule:

This is a full-time schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday - 9am-7pm
Holidays are required!
