Job summary

The ASPCA Community Medicine team seeks a licensed Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality care in our mobile and stationary clinics in New York City. You will administer medications, assist in spay/neuter procedures, and support veterinarians across multiple sites.

Excellent animal handling and customer service skills are essential, with the ability to lift 40+ pounds and work 8+ hours daily. Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have current New York State Veterinary Technician License or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Excellent animal handling skills (cats, dogs).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience using a computer and navigating software applications.

Responsibilities

• Care for 35-40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery.
• Administer injections including anesthetics, pain medications, vaccinations and other meds.
• Intubate, place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and administer fluids as needed.
• Monitor vital signs in pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.
• Follow CM SOPs and assist attending Veterinarian as directed.
