Qualifications

• Not an entry-level role; candidates should have 1+ year of veterinary hospital experience.
• Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and lab diagnostics is preferred.
• Strong client communication and veterinary customer service skills are required.
• Surgery, anesthesia monitoring, dental, and post-operative care experience is a plus.
• RVT credential strongly preferred; experienced assistants with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized and outpatient patients.
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, diagnostics, and medical procedures.
• Perform animal handling and restraint for examinations and treatment.
• Perform venipuncture, blood collection, and sample processing for labs.
• Assist with radiology, treatment administration, patient monitoring, and procedures.
• Prepare patients, rooms, equipment, and instruments for appointments.
• Support surgery, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Communicate with clients regarding appointments, plans, and discharge instructions.
• Provide veterinary client service and patient education.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, sanitation, and daily hospital operations.
