Job summary

Cobb Animal Clinic in Greensboro, NC is hiring full-time Veterinary Technician, RVT, or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join a growing team. The role includes hospital care, exams, diagnostics, and client communication in a busy clinic.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic.
• Strong nursing, patient care, and animal restraint skills.
• Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and lab diagnostics.
• Ability to support veterinarians during exams and procedures.
• Excellent client communication and veterinary customer service.
• Surgery and anesthesia monitoring experience preferred.
• RVT credential strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized and outpatient patients
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, diagnostics, and medical procedures
• Perform safe animal handling and restraint for examinations and treatment
• Perform venipuncture, blood collection, laboratory diagnostics, and sample processing
• Assist with radiology, treatment administration, patient monitoring, and medical procedures
• Prepare patients, exam rooms, equipment, and instruments for appointments and procedures
• Support surgery, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative patient recovery
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Communicate with clients regarding appointments, patient needs, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Provide compassionate veterinary client service and patient education
• Assist with inventory, stocking, sanitation, and daily hospital operations

What We're Looking For

This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should have 1+ year of experience in a veterinary hospital, general practice, urgent care, emergency, or specialty veterinary setting.

We're looking for someone with:

• Strong veterinary nursing, patient care, and animal restraint skills
• Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and laboratory diagnostics
• Confidence supporting veterinarians during exams, treatments, procedures, and patient care
• Strong client communication and veterinary customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary hospital
• Surgery, anesthesia monitoring, dental, and post-operative care experience preferred
• RVT credential strongly preferred
• Experienced Veterinary Assistants with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the hospital
• Ability to lift, carry, and restrain patients up to 50 lbs, with assistance when appropriate
• Comfortable working with animals of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions

Availability

• Flexible schedule preferred
• Ability to support weekends, holidays, and high-volume periods as needed

Transportation

• Reliable transportation required
