Thrive Pet Healthcare in Canyon Lake, TX is seeking a relief Veterinary Technician to join our busy general practice. You will assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures, prepare and monitor patients for surgery, and perform lab work and nursing tasks to support high-quality care.

Ideal candidates have previous veterinary technician experience, strong technical skills, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary technician experience required.
  • Surgical and anesthesia experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Compassionate, positive attitude toward patients and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support team members across all departments as needed

Veterinary Technician - RELIEF

About You

You'll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including intake and discharging patients.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Prepare and monitor patients for surgery, including anesthesia monitoring
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and lab sample collection
  • Run in-house diagnostics and maintain accurate medical records
  • Provide nursing care, including patient monitoring and treatments
  • Educate clients on medications, post-op care, and preventative health
