Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking Relief Veterinary Technicians to join our team on a flexible as-needed basis. This position offers hands-on care across emergency and specialty services, with no guaranteed hours.

You will assist doctors, perform lab tests, support admissions and discharges, and contribute across departments as needed. A CVT/RVT/LVT is preferred, with at least two years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician.
• CVT/RVT/LVT active and current strongly preferred.
• Superior/advanced technical skills, with anesthesia experience.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Positive, self-motivated approach and a great attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end patient care and perform laboratory tests.
• Assist with admissions and discharges and support patient flow.
• Collaborate across departments as needed and assist doctors in interventions.
• Monitor anesthesia and integrate clinical signs to aid timely decisions.

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists is looking for a Relief (as-needed) Veterinary Technicians to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Scottsdale, AZ.

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients throughout our emergency and specialty hospital. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating treatments and performing laboratory tests, to supporting patient admissions and discharges while bringing your expertise to a variety of departments as needed.

This is a relief position intended for individuals seeking flexible, as-needed work. Hours are not guaranteed and shift availability may fluctuate.

Your Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care)


• CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) strongly preferred


• Superior/advanced technical skills


• Has strong anesthesia skills (Able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care)


• Possesses a positive work attitude


• Self-motivated


• Excellent communication and organization skills
