Job summary

Cypress Creek Pet Care in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our small animal practice. This full-time role offers four 10-hour shifts per week with at least two Saturdays per month, supporting outpatient treatments, lab work and patient discharge.

You will work closely with veterinarians, perform anesthesia monitoring, collect samples, manage records, and ensure compassionate care. We welcome both licensed technicians and experienced non-licensed applicants who are

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred; experienced non-licensed candidates encouraged.
  • Proficient in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Familiar with cytology, in-house lab testing, imaging, and patient handling.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient histories and vital signs, informing the veterinary team.
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, outpatient treatments, intake and discharge.
  • Provide nursing care, patient handling and general animal husbandry.
  • Collect diagnostic samples and run in-house labs; support imaging.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Prepare patients and areas for surgery; assist with anesthesia.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment notes.
  • Maintain clean cages, instruments, and treatment areas.
  • Ensure safety and stock of supplies; follow hospital policy.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Veterinary Technician

Full-time: 4 day, 10 hour shifts with a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month.

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including intake and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient histories, record vital signs, and communicate key care details to the veterinary team.
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, outpatient treatments, patient intake, discharge, and client communication.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care, patient handling, and general animal husbandry.
  • Collect diagnostic samples, perform in-house laboratory testing, and support diagnostic imaging.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Prepare patients, instruments, and treatment areas for surgery and procedures.
  • Place and maintain IV catheters, assist with anesthesia support, and monitor patients during and after surgery.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, patient notes, and treatment documentation.
  • Clean and sterilize cages, instruments, treatment areas, and equipment.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment while following safety standards and hospital policies.
  • Other tasks as assigned
Experience & Skills
  • 1+ year of experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical veterinary setting.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred, but experienced non-licensed Veterinary Technicians are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficient in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, basic drug calculations, medication administration, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Knowledge of cytology, in-house laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, animal behavior, and patient handling.
  • Comfortable using hospital software, documenting accurate patient notes, and communicating care details clearly.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Self-motivated team player who stays organized in a fast-paced veterinary hospital and is passionate about patient care.
