Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Relief Veterinary Technician to join our emergency and specialty hospital team. This as-needed role involves hands-on patient care, lab work, and assisting with admissions and discharges across multiple departments.

Flexible hours, with no guaranteed shifts, and a supportive, learning-oriented environment. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of clinical veterinary experience and current CVT/RVT/LVT credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician.
  • CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) strongly preferred.
  • Superior/advanced technical skills.
  • Has strong anesthesia skills (able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, SpO2, and ETCO2).
  • Positive work attitude and self-motivation.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end care for patients across departments as needed.
  • Facilitate treatments and perform laboratory tests.
  • Support patient admissions and discharges.

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists is looking for a Relief (as-needed) Veterinary Technicians to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Scottsdale, AZ.


About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients throughout our emergency and specialty hospital. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating treatments and performing laboratory tests, to supporting patient admissions and discharges while bringing your expertise to a variety of departments as needed.


This is a relief position intended for individuals seeking flexible, as-needed work. Hours are not guaranteed and shift availability may fluctuate.

Your Experience & Skills


  • Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care)

  • CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) strongly preferred

  • Superior/advanced technical skills

  • Has strong anesthesia skills (Able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care)

  • Possesses a positive work attitude

  • Self-motivated

  • Excellent communication and organization skills
