BluePearl Pet Hospital in Appleton, WI is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician for our Emergency and Critical Care department.

Position:

Emergency Veterinary Technician in our ER/ICU Department.

Shift:

Relief

Pay Range CVTI-II:

$21.00 - $33.50/hour

*This pay band depends on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Responsibilities:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, and operate anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases, obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography, including proper positioning.
• Assist with or perform CT, endoscopy, and ultrasonography.
• Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, administer medications via appropriate routes.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes, drains, and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train team members, address client concerns with patience and empathy.
• Stay current on CPR guidelines; ALS and BLS certification provided at no cost.
