Essex Veterinary Clinic, part of the Pieper Veterinary network, is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our caring team in Essex. You will deliver high-quality nursing care, support wellness visits, dentistry, surgery, anesthesia, and client education as part of a collaborative hospital setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, continuing education, and mentorship, with a schedule that includes rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a busy veterinary hospital with nursing focus.
• Strong clinical nursing skills including phlebotomy and anesthesia.
• Knowledge of veterinary instruments, equipment, and patient care procedures.
• Understanding of sterilization techniques and surgical support responsibilities.
• Ability to educate clients and provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
• Availability to work the posted schedule, including rotating Saturdays.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Pay: $21.00-$30.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM-6:00 PM | Rotating Saturdays, 7:30 AM-2:00 PM
Incentives: Additional compensation available for CVT credentialed technicians

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE | NON-NEGOTIABLE

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a busy veterinary hospital with a focus on nursing care
• Strong technical veterinary technician skills including phlebotomy and anesthesia
• Knowledge of veterinary instruments, equipment, and patient care procedures
• Understanding of sterilization techniques and surgical support responsibilities
• Ability to educate clients and provide exceptional customer service
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members
• Availability to work the posted schedule, including rotating Saturdays
• Must be at least 18 years of age

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS | NOT A DEAL BREAKER

• Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology
• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and dental cleanings
• Experience with CPR protocols
• Experience using EzyVet
• Advanced surgery support experience
• Strong interest in continued professional development and mentorship opportunities
