Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education as required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state of the hospital.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or working in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and maintain professional attitude under emotional situations.
• Telephone and computer skills.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt to new techniques and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, escort to exam room, and record vital signs and history in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, process lab samples, handle meds, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, update records and accounts.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Participate in training new staff and share knowledge as required.
• Keep hospital environment neat and maintain schedule-based maintenance.
