The Veterinary Technician or Assistant – ER Appointment Technician will be responsible for supporting the needs of Emergency Doctors seeing emergencies through the emergency list. Their time will be spent working with outpatients and patients before they are admitted to the hospital. Once a patient is admitted, the care of that patient will transfer to the Inpatient service. Tasks that the ER Appointment Technician may be asked to perform include triage, gathering and documenting patient histories and exam findings, restraint, venipuncture/phlebotomy, SQ/IM/IV injections, catheter placement, sedation of patients, performing radiographs, filling prescriptions, submission of requests using the electronic medical record, invoicing, etc.

We are looking for applicants with at least 2 years of veterinary technician/assistant experience in an emergency and critical care environment. Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent experience. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
