Job summary

The MSPCA-Angell in Boston is seeking an ER Appointment Technician to support Emergency Doctors by handling outpatients and patients before admission. The role includes triage, history gathering, venipuncture, injections, radiographs, and more, with a focus on the ER list.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of veterinary technician/assistant experience in an emergency and critical care environment.
• CVT or equivalent credential or experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Restraint of animals for examination
• Phlebotomy
• Basic diagnostic testing (PCV/TP, NOVA, SNAP tests, slides cytology)
• Giving injections (SQ/IM/IV)
• Filling prescriptions
• Taking radiographs
• IV catheter placement
• Comfort with sedation is preferred/ideal

Education

Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent experience
