BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Dallas, TX seeks an experienced Neurology Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role offers a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 for qualified candidates and compensation depends on licensing, experience, and competency assessment.

Responsibilities include anesthesia induction/monitoring/recovery, MRI/CT setup, nursing care for neuro patients, client education, and medication management.

Qualifications

• Active veterinary technician license or eligible for licensure in TX.
• Neurology experience preferred.
• Strong clinical skills in anesthesia and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Dallas, TX is hiring a experienced Neurology Veterinary Technician to join our team!

This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for qualified candidates!

Pay: Dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician , you will:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc ).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia

• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc.. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• Perform call backs and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.

• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics

Continuing Education Plan

Includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
