Qualifications

• Experience with advanced neurologic procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently calculate and administer complex medication dosages, including CRIs and anesthetic protocols.
• Safely induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia for neurology procedures.
• Monitor anesthetized patients using advanced physiologic parameters and respond to changes.
• Operate and troubleshoot infusion and syringe pumps.
• Maintain high attention to detail while managing critically ill neurology patients.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for hospitalized neurology patients.
• Obtain medical histories and communicate relevant information to clinicians.
• Educate clients on neurologic patient care and postoperative expectations.
• Perform client follow-up communications and medication refills.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician .

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

Our Neurology service is seeking a highly skilled technician to join a collaborative team dedicated to diagnosing and treating some of the most challenging and rewarding cases in veterinary medicine. From spinal decompressions to advanced MRI imaging and seizure management, you'll play a vital role in every stage of patient care.

This position is ideal for technicians with strong anesthesia experience who are eager to further develop their skills in neurology and advanced neurologic procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, clinically confident, and passionate about providing exceptional care to both patients and their families.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician , you will:

• Independently calculate and administer complex medication dosages, including advanced medical math, constant rate infusions (CRIs), and anesthetic drug protocols
• Safely induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia for advanced neurologic procedures.
• Monitor anesthetized patients using advanced anesthetic and physiologic parameters, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in patient status.
• Operate and troubleshoot a variety of infusion pumps and syringe pumps.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail while managing critically ill neurologic and neurosurgical patients.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for hospitalized neurology patients in accordance with hospital standards of care and core values.
• Recognize normal and abnormal neurologic and physiologic findings and promptly communicate concerns to the veterinarian.
• Obtain detailed medical histories and effectively communicate relevant information to the clinician.
• Educate clients on neurologic patient care, including manual bladder expression, assisted mobility and sling walking, range-of-motion exercises, medication administration, and postoperative recovery expectations.
• Perform client follow-up communications, medication refills, and ongoing patient care support.
