BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a Neurology Veterinary Technician with strong knowledge in anesthesia and neuro nursing. You will set up CRIs, monitor anesthesia, and assist with MRI/CT procedures. The role includes client education, discharging neuro patients, and providing comprehensive nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI) and manage anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Assist with MRI and CT procedures and patient preparation.
• Discharge neuro patients with client education and basic nursing care.
• Perform nursing duties including education, histories, and vitals assessment.
• Operates IV fluid pumps and troubleshoots errors.
• Restrains patients during consults and diagnostics to ensure safety.

Payscale - APCA I - RVT I: $22.15 - $33.60 /Hr

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician , you will:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc ).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc.. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• P erform call back s and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam ; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• O perate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• R estrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
