Veterinary Technician - Lead

Holden, MA


Full-Time


Holden Veterinary Clinic is looking for a Lead Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your work will include outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, surgery assistance, and support services such as admitting and discharging patients.


Schedule: Includes appointments, surgeries, and technician visits. 40 hours per week, 4-10 hour shifts.


Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • Veterinary technician licensure required
  • 3-5 years of CVT experience
  • Management experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Surgical, anesthesia, and dental experience required
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience

Role Responsibilities:
  • Train, coach, and supervise technicians and assistants
  • Lead Technician meetings
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures per state regulations
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options
  • Maintain medical records and relevant health history
  • Use safe restraining techniques and maintain clean, organized treatment areas
  • Mentor and support team members

Compensation is negotiable, with hourly rates from $27-$30, based on credentials and experience.
