The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a full time dedicated and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our Sunnyslope Public Clinic working 4 10 hour shifts split between Monday-Friday and eventually Saturdays from 6:45 am-5:15 pm (end time can vary depending on clinic needs). The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for working in our low cost animal clinic that specializes in assisting veterinarians in all aspects of care for owned animals of our community. They will be responsible for AHS' Spay/Neuter and Wellness including prepping for surgery, anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, laboratory diagnostics, restraining/handling, vaccine knowledge, fluid therapy, the administration of prescribed medications (oral, IV, IM, SQ), client education and clinic asepsis.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated office environment.
