United Therapeutics Corporation seeks a Veterinary Technician I/II for our Blacksburg, VA facility. You will support anesthesia, surgical procedures, and post-operative care for research animals, while maintaining records, equipment, and facility compliance.

The role emphasizes high-quality animal care, teamwork, and rigorous adherence to regulatory standards in a 100% onsite setting.

Qualifications

• AVMA-accredited program in veterinary technology.
• 2+ years of large animal care with an associate degree or 1+ year with a bachelor’s degree.
• 4+ years of large animal care with an associate degree or 2+ years with a bachelor’s degree (Tech II).
• Licensed Veterinary Technician-NAVTA; VA Board license.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays/extended hours.
• Strong recordkeeping, data collection, and documentation.

Responsabilités

• Assist with anesthesia during transplant and other surgeries under supervision.
• Provide surgical assistance in experimental procedures under guidance.
• Perform routine animal care and operational support in the transplant facility.
• Set up CT imaging equipment and perform animal CT scans under supervision.
• Collect, store, ship, and maintain inventory records for research samples.
• Coordinate animal transfers to and from the transplant facility.
• Assist with maintenance and preventive maintenance scheduling of facility equipment.
• Follow SOPs and QA standards; maintain cleanliness and readiness of the swine facility.

Formation

AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program

Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology
