Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to support the veterinary care program within the Division of Animal Resources. You will assist veterinarians, monitor daily health, maintain records, and participate in anesthesia services.

The ideal candidate holds a veterinary technology degree with licensure in Virginia and can train staff while ensuring compliance with care standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold Virginia Veterinary Technician license.
• Experience with anesthesia and surgical support preferred.
• Ability to train researchers and DAR staff.
• Demonstrates respect and professionalism with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical support for veterinary care program.
• Assist staff veterinarians and researchers with procedures.
• Perform daily health rounds and monitor animals.
• Maintain animal health records and communicate care recommendations.
• Participate in rotating anesthesia services and trainings.
• Manage spaces, pharmacy, logs, and equipment; schedule and maintain.
