Job summary
Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists of Mansfield is seeking a Veterinary Technician to lead the overnight emergency shift. You will supervise the overnight team, assist with ER procedures, anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care, while ensuring a calm, confident presence on the floor.
Ideal candidates have ECC experience and are ready to mentor staff, support veterinarians, and contribute to a high standard of emergency care.
Qualifications
- ECC veterinary technician experience required.
- Phlebotomy and anesthesia monitoring skills essential.
- Ability to lead and support teammates overnight.
- Strong multitasking and composure in critical situations.
- Organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
Responsibilities
- Lead overnight hospital flow to ensure efficient, compassionate care
- Support veterinarians by executing treatment plans
- Delegate tasks to treatment and surgery technicians
- Assist with emergency procedures, anesthesia, diagnostics, and surgery
- Monitor anesthesia and provide advanced nursing care
- Admit and discharge patients; educate clients on home care
- Mentor technicians and support skill development
- Partner with leadership on workflow and patient care improvements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT/VTS): $25.00-$35.00/hr + shift differential
Experienced Veterinary Technician (Unlicensed): $25.00-27.00/hr + shift differential

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists of Mansfield provides 24/7 emergency care, including holidays. Our emergency team is equipped to handle critical cases at any hour with advanced diagnostics and treatment capabilities, including:
- In-house bloodwork and digital radiology
- Surgery and anesthesia
- Oxygen therapy and transfusions
- Ultrasound and endoscopy
You'll support excellent patient care while guiding the overnight team, including:
- Leading overnight hospital flow to ensure efficient, compassionate care
- Supporting veterinarians by executing treatment plans
- Delegating tasks to treatment and surgery technicians
- Assisting with emergency procedures, anesthesia, diagnostics, and surgery
- Monitoring anesthesia and providing advanced nursing care
- Admitting and discharging patients; educating clients on home care
- Serving as a calm, steady leadership presence overnight
- Mentoring technicians and supporting skill development
- Partnering with leadership on workflow and patient care improvements
- Emergency veterinary technician experience (ECC)
- Strong technical skills (including phlebotomy & anesthesia monitoring)
- Comfort leading and supporting teammates overnight
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in critical situations
- Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
- Credentialed technicians encouraged to apply
- Prior experience mentoring or acting as a shift lead
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on leader who supports from the floor
