BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our team in the Emergency and ICU department at our Skokie, IL location.

Pay Range

$23.20 - $43.70 per hour. This pay band depends on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Competitive Shift Differentials

• Weekday Night (Mon‑Fri 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.): $4.00
• Weekend Day (Sat‑Sun 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.): $4.00
• Weekend Night (Sat‑Sun 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.): $5.50

BluePearl Pet Hospital offers a fast‑paced opportunity for Veterinary Technicians to utilize and grow their skills while working alongside talented professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique and positioning.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, and alert the Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Accurately calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other co‑workers.
• Show patience and empathy when addressing client concerns.
