BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician offers an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to utilize and expand your skills, working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
  1. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  2. Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  3. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
  4. Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rates, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  5. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
  6. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  7. Calculate medical math, including infusion rates, and administer medications appropriately.
  8. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
  9. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  10. Mentor and train co-workers.
  11. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
