NVA General Practice in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a qualified veterinary technician. The role involves assisting veterinarians with animal health care, administering treatments, and performing routine laboratory tests. A state-recognized veterinary technician credential (CVT, LVT, or RVT) is required.
The compensation for this position ranges from $20 to $27 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and a 401k with employer match.
Applies medical nursing knowledge attained through hands‑on experience and/or formal education to assist veterinarians in clinical setting, providing support for a variety of animal health care needs. Prepares treatment room for examination of animals, and holds or restrains animals during examination, treatment, or inoculation. Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animal, under minimal supervision. Prepares patient, medications, and equipment for surgery, and hands instruments and materials to veterinarian during surgical procedures. Performs routine laboratory tests. May assist veterinarian with emergent or specialized patient care. State‑recognized veterinary technician credential (CVT, LVT, or RVT) with credential in good standing required.
