Job summary

CityVet Mansfield is seeking a Veterinary Technician (VT) with a minimum of 1 year of experience. The VT helps veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery, restraining animals safely, and assisting with exams, diagnostics, and post-op care. Strong communication with clients and teamwork are essential.

The position emphasizes high-quality patient care, efficient clinical operations, and adherence to safety protocols in a busy clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying and reaching.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery and post-op care.
• Obtain samples (blood, stool, etc.) for testing and input results.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed by DVM.
• Communicate with clients regarding care plans and instructions.
• Support front desk as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
