Job summary

Athens Animal Clinic in Texas is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians with patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, prepare prescriptions, and assist with surgical procedures. You will handle in-house lab work, radiography, client education, and daily clinic operations while upholding warmth, compassion, and professional communication with clients and the practice team.

Weekend availability preferred; prior veterinary experience is a plus; ability to lift up to 25 pounds;

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with veterinary medicine and surgery.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Obtain and process samples; in-house lab work and sendouts.
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams as needed.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments.
• Restock and maintain exam rooms and equipment; keep areas clean.
