Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams and surgical procedures as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures.
• Collect samples and perform in-house lab tests; prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed.
• Keep treatment and exam rooms clean and stocked; assist with patient flow.
• Present warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all client interactions.
• Communicate plans and concerns with veterinarians and clients.
