Job summary

ASPCA’s Community Medicine team seeks a licensed Veterinary Technician to provide essential care in a high-volume clinic setting. You will assist in spay/neuter surgery, perform clinical tasks, and support clients with clear communication.

You will join a dedicated team delivering care to underserved communities while adhering to CM SOPs and ASPCA policies. Strong animal handling and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of veterinary science technology or equivalent.
• Must have current New York State Veterinary Technician License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment).
• Fear Free certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for 35–40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery.
• Administer injections, including anesthetics, vaccines, and medications.
• Monitor vital signs and provide treatments per SOPs.
• Enter medical information into digital databases and maintain records.
• Collaborate with ASPCA colleagues and participate in staff meetings and training.
