Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Aurora, CO seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician Clinical Director to lead the clinical education component of the AVMA-accredited Veterinary Nursing Program at the Aurora campus.

Collaborating with the Program Director, you will secure externship partnerships, schedule rotations, monitor student progress, and ensure AVMA accreditation standards. Occasional classroom/lab instruction may occur for a certified RVT/CVT seeking academic leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-accredited program (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Active RVT or CVT credential in Colorado (or equivalent state license).
• Minimum of 3 years of practical veterinary field experience.
• Strong communication skills and MS Office proficiency; ability to demonstrate nursing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Partnerships & Site Management: Secure and maintain clinical affiliation agreements ensuring AVMA standards.
• Site Inspections & Evaluations: Visit sites to evaluate facility quality and progress.
• Clinical Planning & Scheduling: Schedule rotations and develop learning objectives with the Program Director.
• Student Mentorship, Assessment & Instruction: Conduct orientations, track competencies, and support diverse learning styles.
• Admission & Instruction: Serve as an instructor when required and assist admissions processes.
