Play a key role in shaping the next generation of veterinary professionals! Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Clinical Director to lead the clinical education component of our AVMA-accredited Veterinary Nursing Program at the Aurora campus.
Working in close collaboration with the Program Director, you will secure and evaluate clinical externship partnerships, schedule clinical rotations, monitor student progress, and ensure full compliance with AVMA accreditation standards. In addition to clinical coordination, you will occasionally serve as an instructor in classroom and lab settings. Clinical Partnerships & Site Management:
Affiliation Contracts: Secure and maintain clinical affiliation agreements, ensuring all externship sites meet institutional and AVMA program standards.
Site Inspections & Evaluations: Visit clinical sites to evaluate facility quality, assess student progress, and partner with site preceptors and instructors.
Clinical Planning & Scheduling: Schedule student rotations, develop clinical learning objectives, and refine the overall clinical education plan alongside the Program Director.
Orientations & Competency Tracking: Conduct student clinical orientations, monitor hands‑on skill competencies in field settings, and adjust instruction as needed to support diverse learning styles.
Retention & Recordkeeping: Track student success metrics, implement proactive retention strategies to maintain an 80%+ student success rate, and maintain precise student academic records in compliance with institutional policies.
Instruction & Admissions: Serve as a Veterinary Nursing instructor in classroom/lab settings when required, and support program admissions processes as needed.
Education: Associate degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-accredited program (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Credentials & Licensure: Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential in Colorado (or equivalent state‑required license).
Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of practical veterinary field experience.
Technical & Physical Competency: Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); physical ability to demonstrate veterinary nursing techniques (including animal restraint and lifting).
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership, supervisory, or clinical management experience in a veterinary practice or academic setting.
Prior teaching or clinical instruction experience in an AVMA-accredited program.
Hiring Range: $78,030 to $97,535 per year (Salaried Exempt).
