Job summary

Tally Oaks Veterinary Wellness Center in Purcellville, Virginia is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our small animal practice. We offer a supportive, patient-focused environment where veterinary team members can provide attentive care without the pace and pressure of a high-volume practice.

You will assist veterinarians, perform venipuncture, monitor anesthesia, and help with dental care, radiography, and lab work in a calm, low-stress environment that prioritizes prevention

Qualifications

• At least two years of veterinary technician experience preferred.
• Veterinary Technician certification or licensure is valued.
• Strong technical and patient-care skills.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and client education skills.
• Compassionate approach to animal care.
• Interest in Fear Free handling and low-stress patient care.
• Motivated, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality veterinary care.
• Interest in wellness, preventive medicine, and holistic approaches is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Monitor patients during anesthesia.
• Assist with dental cleanings and related procedures.
• Perform radiography and laboratory work.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment information.
• Educate clients regarding patient care, wellness, and treatment recommendations.
• Provide compassionate, low-stress handling and care for patients.
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians and other members of the veterinary team.
