Job summary

Forever Vets of Murabella Parkway in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. You will support patient care, medical histories, vital signs, and in-house prescriptions, while assisting doctors during exams and anesthesia.

Responsibilities

• Check patient medical records for past histories, enter in computer and files.
• Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
• Maintain client educational material in an efficient manner.
• Admit and discharge patients.
• Take, process and log prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
• Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
• Administer medications to patients as needed.
• Place catheters and perform blood draws.
• Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
• Must lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand for long periods.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Florida are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
