Job summary

CareVet of Bella Vista, Pineville MO, seeks a Veterinary Technician/Assistant to support patient care and daily operations. Duties include recording medical histories, vital signs, and assisting with exams and anesthesia, while maintaining records and orders for medications and treatments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Missouri Registered Veterinary Technicians preferred. Training available for right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Check patient medical records and enter in computer and files.
• Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
• Admit and discharge patients.
• Take, process and log prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
• Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
• Administer medications to patients as needed.
• Place catheters and perform blood draws.
• Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.

Education

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Missouri are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
