Position Details

Veterinary Technician/Assistant
Premier Veterinary Hospital, Lawrenceville, Georgia

Responsibilities

1. Check patient medical records for past histories, enter in computer, and file.
2. Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
3. Maintain client educational materials efficiently.
4. Admit and discharge patients.
5. Process and log prescription refills in-house, call out to pharmacies, and manage online pharmacy prescriptions.
6. Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
7. Administer medications to patients as needed.
8. Place catheters and perform blood draws.
9. Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to multi-task. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Georgia are preferred but not required. Willing to train the right candidate.
