Job summary

Alliance Animal Health in St. Augustine, FL is seeking veterinary technicians and assistants to join a brand-new urgent care clinic opening in late August 2026. You will perform triage, patient prep, lab analyses, radiography, nursing care, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of veterinary tech experience; CVT is preferred but not required. We offer robust benefits and development opportunities in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals and triage incoming patients
• Collect and analyze lab samples

We’ll be available for urgent care pet needs every day from 3 pm – 11 pm. We are eager and ready to serve the local community and their pets and are currently looking for veterinary technicians and assistants to build our medical care team!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We’re looking for:

• Experienced veterinary technicians, 2+ years professional experience preferred but not required
  • CVT highly preferred, but not required for this position.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
