Job summary

Alliance Animal in Middleburg, FL operates a brand-new Priority Pet Urgent Care clinic opening in late August 2026. We plan to serve pets with urgent care needs daily from 3 pm to 11 pm and are building a medical care team of veterinary technicians and assistants.

Qualifications

• 2+ years veterinary technician experience preferred but not required.
• CVT highly preferred, but not required.
• Punctuality and reliability in adherence to shifts.
• Excellent client communication and medical records management.
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures, hospital operations, and preventive care.
• Expertise in safe animal restraint techniques.
• Experience with sample collection: blood, urine, feces, skin.
• Experience in radiography positioning and image capture.
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals, triage patients, collect and analyze lab samples, and assist with diagnostic imaging.
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans to clients.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
• Maintain safety when exposed to odors, bites, and contagions.

We’ll be available for urgent care pet needs every day from 3 pm – 11 pm. We are eager and ready to serve the local community and their pets and are currently looking for veterinary technicians and assistants to build our medical care team!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• Experienced veterinary technicians, 2+ years professional experience preferred but not required.
  • CVT highly preferred, but not required for this position.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
