Base pay range

$22.00/hr - $26.00/hr

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our team! Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care and exceptional service for our patients and their owners. We are open 24/7, offering emergency and routine care for cats, dogs, horses, farm animals, and exotic pets.

Veterinary Technicians play a vital role by supporting doctors, caring for patients, and engaging with clients regarding patient care. Ideal candidates will have prior veterinary technician experience and an interest in emergency medicine. Weekend availability, rotating on-call shifts, and some holidays are required.

Responsibilities

1. Knowledge of small animal medicine, including pharmacology, restraint, venipuncture, and lab testing. Opportunities to learn large animal care.
2. Triaging emergencies and illnesses.
3. Performing treatments such as feeding tubes and IV catheter placement.
4. Understanding medical terminology, medications, and diseases.
5. Administering medications via various routes.
6. Capturing digital radiographs.
7. Using computer systems effectively.
8. Communicating clearly with clients and team members.
9. Managing anesthesia, including induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery.
10. Maintaining attention to detail and a calm demeanor.
11. Working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
12. Handling patients with low stress techniques.
13. Advocating for patients.

Qualifications

1. Previous veterinary practice experience is required.
2. CVT or equivalent preferred.
