Cummings Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Full-Time or Part-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team!

$2000 Sign on Bonus (for full-time candidates)

Location: 5111 Church Road, Easton PA 18045

Compensation: $20 - $25 based on experience with opportunities for annual bonus

Schedule: We work together to find a schedule that benefits both of us.

Hospital Hours:

• Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
• Saturday - 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Skills: We seek a Certified Veterinary Technician passionate about client communication, capable of conducting technician appointments, triaging patients, providing care and TLC to hospitalized patients, and collecting/processing lab samples.

Responsibilities

Major Duties:

• Providing in-patient medical care, administering medications, assisting with treatments, diagnostics, monitoring, IV placements, blood draws, lab tests, IV fluids, feeding, walking, and cleaning.
• Preparing, inducing, maintaining, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia; sterilizing equipment.
• Providing dental care, ultrasonic cleaning, polishing, and assisting in dental surgeries.
• Positioning patients for radiographs and managing imaging procedures.
• Collecting, preparing, and submitting samples for testing; recording results.
• Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and educational materials for clients.
• Communicating with clients about hospitalized patients, providing updates, instructions, and follow-ups.
• Teaching and demonstrating at-home care procedures to clients.
• Performing technician appointments such as blood draws, bandage changes, post-op checks, and suture removals.
• Assisting with outpatient appointments, managing exam rooms, and ensuring smooth patient flow.
• Supporting reception duties as needed, including answering phones and scheduling.
• Training and mentoring new team members.
• Managing inventory, restocking supplies, and preparing prescriptions.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds, with assistance for over 50 pounds.
• Endurance to sit, stand, and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
• Good ambulatory skills and the ability to work in noisy environments with animals and equipment.
• Exposure to potential hazards like bites, scratches, anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications.
• Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity for operating equipment and computers.
