Job summary

Dr. Norm’s Animal Hospital, part of Vetcor, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician in Panama City Beach, Florida.

This full-time position features a four-day workweek with rotating Saturday shifts and a pay rate of $17.50–$20 per hour, based on experience and skill level. You will assist veterinarians, perform in-house Idexx lab testing, take radiographs, administer vaccines and medications, monitor anesthesia, and maintain detailed patient records.

Qualifications

• Previous Veterinary Technician experience required (minimum not stated).
• Strong technical and patient care skills essential.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory diagnostics and radiology beneficial.
• Excellent communication and client education skills needed.
• Compassionate, team-oriented mindset required.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Perform in-house Idexx laboratory testing and diagnostics.

• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery to ensure safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
• Educate clients on preventive care, treatment plans, and nutrition.
• Safely restrain patients during exams and procedures.
• Care for hospitalized patients and monitor well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital.
