Job summary

Lake Veterinary Clinic in Mount Dora, FL, is seeking a veterinary assistant with at least 1 year of experience to join a fast-paced, multi-doctor practice.

You will assist with restraining patients, lab work, imaging, medications, and anesthesia while communicating care plans to clients and supporting ongoing education and career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year veterinary assistant experience preferred.
• Ability to properly restrain pets and take histories.
• Proficient in sample collection, lab tests, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
• Self-starter with desire to advance knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.

• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
