Job summary

Alliance Animal Health is seeking a certified veterinary technician for its Orlando, FL clinic. The successful candidate will manage patient care, assist in surgeries, and provide excellent communication with clients. This role requires at least 1 year of experience and offers a pay range of $20 - $26/hr depending on experience.

Qualifications

Job description

John Young Parkway Animal Hospital is a 3-doctor progressive veterinary clinic providing excellent care to pets in the greater Orlando, FL area. We are proud to be an AAHA accredited animal hospital! We offer services including: pet examinations and wellness visits, vaccinations, routine check-ups, surgeries, dentistry, pet grooming and boarding.

Orlando, FL is known for being a top tier choice for tourists and families because of the vast opportunities for fun and sunshine! We are a short 30-minute drive to the fun Disney parks, fantastic restaurants, and incredible nightlife! We are centrally located, and less than an hour to beautiful New Smyrna Beaches!

Our hours of operation are:
  • Mon - Fri:8:00am–6:00pm
  • Sat:8:00am–12:00pm
  • Sunday:Closed
Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We’re looking for:
  • A certified veterinary technician, 1+ year experience required
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
Pay Range:

$20 - $26/hr. depending on level of experience
