St. Francis Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician in North Huntingdon, PA. We are a small‑animal and pocket‑pet hospital that values teamwork, respect, and continuous growth. Our schedule is a flexible four‑day work week with 10‑hour shifts—no nights, weekends, or holiday hours.
- Role: Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities
- Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vitals, and assessments
- Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Provide compassionate, high‑quality nursing care from intake through discharge
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
- Monitor anesthesia and support surgical and dental procedures
- Provide patient monitoring and supportive care, including TPRs, pain scoring, and wound care
- Educate clients on patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care
- Maintain clean, stocked treatment and exam areas while following infection control protocols
- Accurately document patient care, treatments, and client communication in the medical record
Qualifications
- Experience as a Veterinary Technician or Licensed Veterinary Technician
- Safe and effective patient handling and restraint skills
- Knowledge of preventive care and vaccines
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring
- Solid technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
- Professional, compassionate communication with clients and team members
- Accurate and concise documentation of patient records and client interactions
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
- Desire to continue learning and growing within veterinary medicine
