Job summary

St. Francis Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team in North Huntingdon, PA. We offer a 4x10-hour shift schedule with no nights, weekends, or holiday hours, and a negotiable salary based on experience and licensure.

Qualifications

  • Must be Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician.
  • Current licensure as RVT/LVT or eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain histories, vitals, and assessments.
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures.
  • Provide nursing care from intake through discharge.
  • Prepare/ administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
  • Monitor anesthesia and support surgical/dental procedures.
  • Educate clients on care, medications, and preventive services.

What You’ll Do
  • Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vitals, and patient assessments
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate, high‑quality nursing care from intake through discharge
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
  • Monitor anesthesia and support surgical and dental procedures
  • Provide patient monitoring and supportive care, including TPRs, pain scoring, and wound care
  • Educate clients on patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care
  • Maintain clean, stocked treatment and exam areas while following infection control protocols
  • Accurately document patient care, treatments, and client communication in the medical record

  • Knowledge of preventive care and vaccines
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring
