Job summary

Veremedy Pet Hospital in Vermont is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join a passionate team focused on exceptional patient care. This full-time position offers a four-day workweek with no nights or on-call shifts, and a competitive hourly wage.

You will assist veterinarians, monitor anesthesia, perform lab work, educate clients, and help maintain a clean, efficient hospital. The role provides strong mentorship, growth opportunities, and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a veterinary technician providing skilled nursing care and supporting procedures.
  • Ability to monitor anesthesia and assist with recovery.
  • Strong communication with clients and education of pet owners.
  • Comfort collaborating with veterinarians and teammates in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with patient exams, treatments, and surgeries.
  • Provide skilled nursing care and compassionate patient support.
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery.
  • Perform diagnostic testing and assist with laboratory procedures.
  • Collect laboratory samples and assist with diagnostics.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress techniques.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Educate clients and clearly communicate veterinary recommendations.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to support patient care.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to provide medical care.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment.
